Adam's second single "WWFM" sold 52,000 copies last week! It was up 6 percent from the previous week! The total sales for the single is currently around 425,000 copies!

Some quick notes: Kris Allen's Live Like We're Dying, if it can sell about 700 more downloads this week than it did last week, will pass the 1 million mark. Meanwhile, Adam Lambert's Whataya Want From Me very nearly unseated it as the week's best-selling Idol track. Also, several tracks that the Top 24 performed during Hollywood made nice gains in downloads this week, notably Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror and Colbie Caillat's Bubbly.

Adam Lambert leads 'Idol' track sales for second week

For the second consecutive week, Adam Lambert had the best-selling track of any American Idol alumnus, as Whataya Want From Me sold nearly 51,000 copies. None of the Idol's tracks on either Nielsen SoundScan's Top Digital Tracks or Top Country Digital Tracks charts saw percentage gains in their week-to-week sales, however.

While Orianthi's According to You did see a unit-increase gain (slightly more than 8,000) after her performance on Wednesday's results show, the number of downloads for Ke$ha's Blah Blah Blah actually decreased (112,000 to 100,000) in the wake of her appearance.

One other note of interest: Kellie Pickler is quietly approaching a million downloads for The Best Days of Your Life. At the rate it's going, it should reach the milestone in the next month or so.

Adam Lambert tops 'Idol' track sales again

Adam Lambert's Whataya Want From Me led all American Idol alumnae's track sales last week, selling more than 54,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's a seven percent increase over the previous week, bring his total to 756,000. (If he can maintain downloads in the 50,000 area, he'll pass the million mark in five to six weeks.)

Being a mentor and a guest performer turned out to be much better than just being a guest performer last week. Downloads of When I Look at You more than doubled for Miley Cyrus, and two other tracks of hers got nice boosts as well. Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato, on the other hand, barely made a splash with Make a Wave: Week-to-week downloads actually decreased 37 percent after their Idol duet.

The hit recordings that got the most boost from Idol covers: Big Girls Don't Cry, I Don't Want to Miss a Thing and Me and Bobby McGee. In fact, Crystal Bowersox's performance of Bobby McGee pushed Joplin's hit past the 500,000-download mark.
